On a perfect November day, a couple from Arizona chose to elope in San Francisco, creating an intimate celebration of their love at the city’s Botanical Garden. Forgoing a traditional wedding, they sought a quiet, personal moment, just for them.

Surrounded by vibrant greenery and sunlight filtering through the trees, the couple exchanged vows on the deck in the serene Moon Viewing Garden. With only the officiant, myself as their photographer, and the couple in attendance, the ceremony was simple yet deeply meaningful. There were no distractions—just the beauty of nature and their connection.

After exchanging vows, they signed their marriage certificate. It was a privilege to be part of their intimate moment, and I signed the certificate, because I was there not only as their photographer but also as their legal witness.

After the ceremony the couple and I strolled along the pathways of the garden while I suggested which locations would be ideal for portraits to commemorate their day – and there were a lot of beautiful spots!

Their elopement was a reminder that sometimes, the most beautiful weddings are the simplest ones, celebrated quietly in the company of love.
